Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (12-2-2, 4-1-2 NJAC) withstood a stern challenge from The College of New Jersey (12-1-1, 6-0-1 NJAC), and came away with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night. The home team outshot the Ospreys 18-1 but could not break through the stout defense of Stockton. The Lions are ranked #4 nationally by United Soccer Coaches.

Jennifer Devault (Mullica Hill/Kingsway) was up to the task, kicking out all four shots during the first 45 minutes of play.
TCNJ kept the ball in Stockton's end for the first eight minutes of the second period but could not get off a shot.
Michelle Sander (Ewing/Notre Dame) fired the Ospreys' only volley of the match at 63:53 but it floated wide.
In the 82nd minute Stockton started to gain some momentum in the Lions end but they too, came away with no chances. Devault made one last save in regulation, with just over two minutes left, to keep the contest scoreless.
The Lions got the only shot without scoring during the first extra frame, sending the game to another overtime period. Stockton received a huge advantage when a Lions player was sent off with a red card with 5:14 left, giving the Ospreys a man advantage for the rest of the game. Stockton pressured but again, came away empty.
Devault kicked away one last shot on a Lions attempt with 1:22 remaining and the game ended in the 0-0 deadlock.
For the game, Devault made a career-high 11 saves in earning her fourth shutout of the season.
Lions goalkeeper Nicole Dipasquale did not have to make a save in picking up her sixth shutout of the year.
Stockton will play the second of a three-game road trip, when the Ospreys will travel to Jersey City to face New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 2 pm.
