Stockton Dominates New Paltz 15-4

New Paltz, NY – Stockton University (3-1) reeled off six straight goals in a seven-minute span early in the first half and rolled to a 15-4 victory over New Paltz (1-1). Senior Melanie Patterson (Jackson/Jackson Liberty) tied her career high with four goals and grabbed two draw controls.
 
Nicole Jandras (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) contributed three goals and an assist while Michelle Pascrell (Howell/Freehold Twp.) scored three goals and snagged three draw controls. Stockton outshot the Hawks 31-14, including 23 shots on goal.
 
Jandras opened the scoring 1:23 into the game but New Paltz answered just 14 seconds later for a 1-1 tie. Stockton then exploded for six goals in just over seven minutes for a 7-1 advantage, led by Jandras and Pascrell with two apiece. Jandras also assisted on a tally by Tamara Torales (Basking Ridge/Ridge) and Gaby Ojeda (Galloway/Absegami) scored as well.
 
After New Paltz got one back, Danielle Graham (Cherry Hill/CH West) capped the first half with a goal that gave Stockton an 8-2 lead at the break. Pascrell collected the draw control that opened the second half and scored 10 seconds later for a commanding 9-2 advantage.
 
Already leading 9-3, the Ospreys put the game away with another run of six straight goals. Patterson led the onslaught with four markers followed by Ojeda and Jennifer Toal (Pine Beach/Toms River South) with one apiece. Stockton led 15-3 with 7:43 to play and coasted to the 15-4 triumph.
 
Ospreys' goalkeeper Brooke Hallett (Absecon/Holy Spirit) earned the win with five saves while her counterpart Haley Timarky finished with eight stops for New Paltz.
 
After two road games just over 48 hours apart, Stockton returns home to host Drew University on Friday at 6 pm.
