Hilton Head, SC – Stockton University (7-5) was edged 5-4 by NCAA Division II opponent East Stroudsburg University (3-3) in a close contest that was decided by the final singles match to be completed. Overall, the teams split in singles play but Stockton dropped two of three in doubles.
 
Renee Wornowicz (Old Bridge/Old Bridge) and Taylor Searles (Turnersville/Washington Twp.) earned the lone doubles point for the Ospreys with an 8-3 win in the No. 3 spot. Emily Steinberg (Toms River/TR North) prevailed 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Brenna Samuels (Salem/Salem) rolled 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
 
Hailey Johnson (Middletown/Academy of Law & Public Safety) rallied for 3-6, 7-6, 10-7 triumph in a very close match at No. 6 singles. The teams were tied with only the No. 4 singles match still in progress. East Stroudsburg's Lauren Morrissey came from behind to take a 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 decision in a super-tiebreaker than clinched the outcome in the 5-4 setback for the Ospreys.
 
Stockton will be back on the courts tomorrow morning for a match against Illinois Wesleyan at 8:30 am.
