In addition to Schieda's two hits,
Alexandra Cosenzo (East Hanover/Hanover Park) and
Liani Ortiz (Marlton/Cherokee) each singled once. Despite suffering the loss,
Victoria Torp (West Milford/West Milford) had another strong outing. Torp allowed just one earned run (one unearned) on five hits with two strikeouts.
Schieda went 2-3 with two doubles, two runs, an RBI and a walk in the second game.
Lilly James (Roseland/West Essex) contributed a double, a run and an RBI while
Morgan DiVello (Hammonton/Hammonton) was 1-2 with a double, two RBI and a run.
Stockton rapped just five hits but capitalized on five errors by the Scarlet Raptors to score six unearned runs, all of which came in the second inning. James started the outburst with an RBI double and then scored the second run. Schieda knocked an RBI double and DiVello followed with a two-run double. DiVello later came across with the sixth run on an error for a 6-0 advantage.
Rutgers-Camden fought back with two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth stanzas to get within 6-4. Three of the four tallies were unearned. In the top of the sixth, Schieda walked and eventually scored on an RBI single by Cosenzo for the last run in the 7-4 victory.
Rutgers-Camden got the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh but Torp finished her second complete game of the day with a fielder's choice to seal the triumph. Torp scattered 10 hits and yielded just one earned run (three unearned) in recording her sixth win of the season.
