Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (20-18, 6-10 NJAC) dropped a pair of conference games to second-place Ramapo (22-10, 13-3) by scores on 7-1 and 10-2 on Thursday.
Ashley Lobell (Cedar Knolls/Whippany Park) slugged her third home run of the season for Stockton's only hit in the first game. Ramapo scored single runs in each of the first two innings before Lobell lofted a solo homer down the left field line in the bottom of the second to make it 2-1.
Ramapo plated its second unearned run of the game in the third inning for a 3-1 count. Pitcher
Victoria Torp (West Milford/West Milford) kept the Ospreys close through five innings but the Ospreys couldn't get anything going against Ramapo hurler Erin Fitzsimmons.
The Roadrunners broke the game open with four runs on five hits in the top of the sixth on the way to the 7-1 final. Jackie Howarth provided the big blow with a two-run homer. Torp absorbed the loss but was solid, allowing three earned runs plus two unearned on nine hits with two strikeouts in five-plus innings.

Carli Shaw (Bordentown/Bordentown) went 2-2 with a walk and a run while
Angie Dunphy (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) also stroked two hits. Stockton rapped 10 hits in the game but stranded 11 runners on base.
Ramapo scored twice in the second inning and then exploded for five runs on four hits and two walks in the top of the third for a 7-0 margin. Shaw's first hit of the game came in the bottom of the third and was followed by a walk to
Meg Murzello (Maple Shade/Holy Cross). Two batters later,
Casey Schieda (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) hit a two-run single that scored both Ospreys and made it 7-2.
The Roadrunners added one run in the top of the fourth to up the deficit to six at 8-2. Stockton threatened in the fourth and fifth stanzas but left the bases loaded each time. Ramapo tacked on two more tallies in the top of the seventh and completed the sweep 10-2.
Stockton will finish the regular season with a home doubleheader against New Jersey City on Saturday at 1 pm. The Ospreys can clinch an NJAC Tournament berth with a sweep or one win plus one loss by Rutgers-Camden.
