Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (4-1) won five out of six in singles to pull away from Pratt Institute (0-1) for a 7-2 victory that was the third straight win for the Ospreys.
Elena Nunez (Madrid, Spain/Rye (N.Y.)),
Brooke Samuels (Salem/Salem) and
Brenna Samuels (Salem/Salem) led Stockton on the day.
Nunez and
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) teamed for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles while the Samuels twins rolled to an 8-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles. The results gave Stockton a 2-1 edge entering singles play.
Brenna Samuels and
Katelyn Emick (West Deptford/West Deptford) notched 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at No. 3 and No. 6 singles respectively. Nunez cruised 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and
Sarah Richardson (Atco/Hammonton) did nearly the same, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Brooke Samuels contributed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles as the Ospreys topped the Cannoneers 7-2.
Stockton will conclude its run of six straight home matches on Tuesday when the Ospreys host Cabrini at 4:00 p.m.
