Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (1-1, 1-1 NJAC) suffered its first defeat of the 2019-20 season as the Ospreys fell to The College of New Jersey (3-0, 3-0) 9-0. The Lions extended their winning streak in conference play to 185 straight matches since the inception of women's tennis as an NJAC sport in 1982.
The Ospreys were blanked 8-0 in two of the three doubles matches and 8-1 in the other.
Brenna Samuels (Salem/Salem) won two games in her match at No. 3 singles but saw her 17-match winning streak dating back to last season end 6-1, 6-1.
Elena Nunez (Madrid, Spain/Rye (N.Y.) also won two games against 2018 NJAC Player of the Year and Co-Rookie of the Year Liya Davidov but fell 6-0, 6-2 overall at No. 1 singles.
Brooke Samuels (Salem/Salem) took one game in her match at No. 4 singles that ended 6-0, 6-1.
The remaining three singles matches all finished with 6-0, 6-0 scores in favor of TCNJ.
Stockton will host Delaware Valley on Saturday at noon.
