Three-Pointers Propel Stockton to 92-56 Victory

Union, N.J. – Stockton University (9-4, 6-0 NJAC) unleashed a three-point shooting barrage on Kean University (4-9, 1-5), making 20 baskets from the behind the arc in a 92-56 rout. The Ospreys shot 45.5 percent (20-44) from long range and remained unbeaten in conference play with the win.
 
Jordan Taylor (East Orange/Cicely Tyson) went a torrid 7-10 (70%) from three-point range and led all players with a career-high 25 points. Taylor also dished five assists. Luciano Lubrano (Ocean City/Ocean) shot 4-6 (66.7%) from outside the arc and finished with a season-high 14 points.
 
Freshman Jordan Williams (Trenton/Trenton Central) chipped in with nine points and tied his career high with seven rebounds. Williams even sank his only three-point attempt of the night. Overall, 13 Ospreys scored and 10 of them drained at least one trey as Stockton cracked the 90-point mark for the fourth time this season.
 
Taylor scored seven points and Tariq Baker (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Anthony's) added five during a 14-4 run that sparked the Ospreys to a 23-13 lead. Stockton later closed the half with a 12-5 spurt on two three-pointers by Taylor and one apiece from Williams and DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) for a 42-28 advantage at the half.
 
Taylor went 3-4 on three-pointers and scored 13 first-half points. As a team, the Ospreys shot 45 percent (9-20) from beyond the arc. They also outrebounded Kean 22-14 and led for 17:21 of the 20 minutes.
 
Stockton put the game away with an 18-1 outburst early in the second half. Lubrano scored eight points and Williams added four during the run, which gave the Ospreys an insurmountable 63-33 lead with 13:44 remaining.
 
The last 13 minutes were academic, with Stockton leading by at least 28 points the entire time and substituting liberally. All 18 Ospreys saw action in the second half and team shot 51.5 percent (17-33) from the floor as they rolled to the 92-56 triumph.
 
Up next, Stockton will host New Jersey City in a conference game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
