Newark, N.J. – Stockton University (10-3-3, 4-1-2 NJAC) spotted host Rutgers-Newark (7-4-3, 1-4-2) the first two goals of the game but then scored the last two and forged a 2-2 tie in an NJAC road game.
Rylee Getter (Galloway/Absegami) and
Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) were the goal scorers for the Ospreys. Stockton outshot Rutgers-Newark 17-12 overall but the Scarlet Raiders had a slight 10-9 edge in shots on goal.
Leila Ettayebi opened the scoring 13:12 into the game and Camila Howard converted a penalty kick at 28:15 to put the Ospreys into a 2-0 hole. Just over three minutes later, Getter scored with an assist by
Bri Honse (Gainesville, Va./Battlefield) to cut the margin in half at 2-1.
With 11:45 gone in the second half, Williams continued her hot scoring pace of late as she netted her fifth goal of the season to pull Stockton into a 2-2 tie. Williams has 12 points (5 G, 2 A) in the last seven matches.

Kylee Sullivan (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) made three saves during the rest of regulation and the Ospreys fired two shots wide, resulting in overtime.
Stockton nearly won the game in the first OT on a floating 25-yard shot by freshman
Sophia Drea (Medford/Shawnee) that bounced off the crossbar. Overall, the Ospreys outshot Rutgers-Newark 3-1 in the two overtimes, with Sullivan making one save as the game finished in a 2-2 draw.
Sullivan finished with eight saves, her second-highest total of the season. Rutgers-Newark keeper Katie McLaughlin finished with seven saves in the match.
Stockton will play its next two games at home, starting with a non-conference tilt against Muhlenberg on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
