Stockton Dumped 3-1 by Salisbury

Salisbury, Md. – Stockton University (8-7-2) made the long road trip south to Salisbury University (6-6-1) for its final non-conference game of the season but was dispatched 3-1 by the Sea Gulls. Brendan Deal (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) was the goal scorer for the Ospreys.

All of the scoring took place in the first 35 minutes of the game. Sean Barwick got things started just 5:59 into the match but Deal answered nine minutes later with his fifth counter of the season. Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) assisted on the tying marker.

Ben Pigg and Carter Chesney later scored for Salisbury just 2:04 apart and the Ospreys found themselves trailing 3-1 at the end of a first half in which they were outshot 10-5.

Stockton earned six corner kicks and attempted seven shots while allowing nine shots in the second half but neither team found the back of the net, resulting in the 3-1 setback for the Ospreys.

Stockton goalkeeper Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) made six saves while his counterpart Ryan Socks earned the win with two stops for Salisbury. Peter Kozlej (Toms River/TR East) fired a team-high three shots for the Ospreys.

Stockton will play its next-to-last game of the regular season when the Ospreys visit William Paterson for an NJAC match on Saturday at 1 p.m.
