Swarthmore, PA – Stockton University (12-16, 4-2 NJAC) traveled to Pennsylvania to play a tri-match and downed Dickinson College (12-9) 3-1, by scores of 25-21, 10-25, 25-17 and 26-24, before falling to host Swarthmore (12-6) 3-1, by scores of 23-25, 25-21, 20-25 and 16-25.

Charlotte Leon (Northport, NY/Northport) led the Ospreys with 23 kills and seven blocks on the day.
Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished 67 assists (8.37 a/s), while
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) scooped 32 digs on the day.

In the first match against the Red Devils, Stockton jumped out to an early lead before Dickinson closed to within one at 18-17. The Ospreys were able to hold on behind a pair of kills by
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) to win 25-21. The second set was all Dickinson as Stockton never got untracked in the 25-10 blowout.

The Ospreys rebounded nicely in the third period behind six straight points to take a 7-3 lead early. The Red Devils closed to 16-15 but a 9-2 run propelled Stockton to the 25-17 third set win. The final set was tight once again, with the squads locked up. Stockton held a 22-19 margin before putting the match away.

A Witherspoon kill, an ace from
Grace Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) and a pair of kills by
Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) sealed the 26-24 win and taking the first match.

Witherspoon set a new career-high with 12 kills in the match followed by Capriglione with 10 spikes. Rentzel dished 29 assists with Marziello scooping 25 digs. Leon led the front line with five blocks with rookie
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) serving three aces and blocking three attempts.

In the second match of the day, the Garnet took the first set 25-23, with Leon getting seven kills and Rolle spiking five more. The Ospreys won the second frame 25-21, on the strength of late scoring. With the score knotted 21-21 two kills by Capriglione, one by Rolle and an ace by
Molly Eng (New Providence/New Providence) provided the final four points in the 25-21 win.

Stockton took and early 5-2 lead in the third period with Rentzel adding a kill and Eng serving another ace. But the lead was short lived as the home team slowly crawled back into the match and pulled away for the 25-21 victory.

In the final set, both teams got off to a shaky start with numerous errors on both squads. Leon spiked a kill to tie the set at 7-7 before Swarthmore put on a 6-1 spurt for a 13-8 margin. Leon pulled Stockton within two at 14-12 with another spike, but the Garnet finished off the match on an 11-4 run to end it at 25-16.

Leon had 18 kills in the final match with Eng scooping 21 digs. Rentzel dished 38 assists with 11 digs for her 10th double-double of the season.
Grace Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) had 10 digs in the match and served two of her four aces on the day.

Stockton next game will be their final NJAC regular season match of 2021, when the Ospreys will face Ramapo College on Tuesday night. Game time is 7 pm.
