Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (13-16, 6-2 NJAC) captured a tough 3-1 win over Ramapo College (6-15, 1-7 NJAC) on Tuesday night. The Ospreys won by scores of 25-13, 18-25, 31-29, 25-15 in the last regular-season NJAC match. Freshman
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) led the Ospreys with 10 kills and a career-high eight blocks.

Stockton jumped out on Ramapo early in the first set and cruised to the 25-13 win.
Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) had three kills while
Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished eight assists and added a pair of kills. The Ospreys committed just one hitting error in the frame.

The Roadrunners took advantage of the home squad in taking set number two. Stockton broke out to a 16-12 lead and looked to put the set away, but Ramapo finished the period on a 13-2 run to win 25-18. Freshman
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) spiked three kills with Capriglione adding another pair.

The exciting third set saw both teams battling for points as the lead for either squad was no bigger than two points during the set. Stockton finally put some distance between the teams at 20-16 and 24-20, looking to capture the stanza.

Four straight points, including a pair of aces by the Roadrunners sent the set to extra points. The Ospreys were finally able to win the 31-29 set on a
Charlotte Leon (Northport, NY/Northport) kill and a Witherspoon block.

The Ospreys righted the ship in the fourth and final frame. At 12-7, Ramapo ran off three points to force Stockton to a timeout at 12-10. The Ospreys came out of the break on a 5-1 run and never looked back in the 25-15 win and taking the match.

Rolle and Capriglione backed up Witherspoon with eight kills each. Rentzel led all players with 34 assists and four aces while setting a new career high with seven kills.
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) scooped 14 digs and served two aces.

Before the match, Marziello, Leon,
Alice Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park),
Grace Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) and
Caity Ullmer (Midland Park/Midland Park) were honored as the five seniors played their final regular season home match for Stockton.

Stockton will finish the regular season with a tri-match on Saturday. The Ospreys will travel to Aston, PA to take on DeSales at 12 pm, then face off against host Neumann at 2 pm.

Stockton qualified for the NJAC Tournament as the number three seed and will host the first round next Tuesday night at 7 pm against an opponent yet to be determined.
