Stockton Downed by #1 TCNJ 5-0

Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (11-5-3, 5-2-2 NJAC) were overwhelmed by the number one ranked The College of New Jersey (15-0-1, 9-0-0 NJAC) by a 5-0 score on Wednesday night. It was the NJAC regular season finale for both squads.  Susan Porambo (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) and freshman Erica Dietz (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) fired a pair of shots each in the match.
 
The Lions, ranked first national by the United Soccer Coaches, potted three scores in the first half and another pair on the second stanza.
 
The Lions outshot Stockton 12-3 during the first 45 minutes and 19-5 overall for the match. Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) put a shot on net in the 37th minute but was turned away. The Lions kept up the pressure in the second half, adding two more goals for the 5-0 victory. Dietz was able to fire a volley on net in the 67th minute, but she also was turned away.
 
Emma Pascarella scored two goals and added an assist for the Lions, who will be the number one seed for the NJAC Tournament.
 
Kylee Sullivan made four saves for the Ospreys in net. Alexandra Panasuk started for TCNJ in goal and made two saves in 75:16 of play. Corinne Bynum finished up, without having to make a save in the combined shutout.
 
Stockton finished as the number four seed in the NJAC Tournament and will host a first-round game in against the number five seed Kean University on Saturday afternoon. Time to be announced.
