Washington, D.C. – Stockton University (2-3) built a 14-point lead in the second quarter and went on to defeat Gallaudet University (0-1) by a 58-49 count in a non-conference game on the road. Freshman Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) led the Ospreys with a game-high 21 points.

LaRosa shot 3-5 (60%) from three-point range as part of an overall 9-14 (64.2%) from the field. The rookie surpassed the 20-point mark for the third time in the last four games.

Grace Sacco (Ocean City/Ocean City) dished a game-high 11 assists, the most by any Stockton player since January 2013 (Alex Nardoza, 11) and equal to the second-most by an Osprey in archives dating back to 1997.

Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) scored 12 points on 6-10 (60%) shooting and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds, the most by any player in the game. Nalya Hill (Bloomfield/DePaul Catholic) contributed 12 points and six boards.

LaRosa tallied four points in the first quarter to spark Stockton to a slim 10-9 edge. Hill netted six points and freshman Jaiden Harris (Lindenwold/OLMA) notched her first four college markers during a game-changing 18-3 run in the second quarter that turned an 11-10 deficit into a 28-14 advantage.

Gallaudet then scored the last four points of the period to make it 28-18 at the half. Hill paced the Ospreys with eight first-half points followed by LaRosa with seven.

Stockton stayed in front by double digits for all but 1:09 of the third quarter, leading by 14 on three occasions on the way to a 48-36 count after three periods. LaRosa scored 10 of Stockton's 20 points in the stanza.

The Bison tried to rally in the fourth quarter, closing within 54-47 with 4:25 remaining. The teams then went scoreless for the next 2:31 before Sacco ended the drought with a jumper at the 1:54 mark. LaRosa followed with a layup to end the threat and help clinch the 58-49 triumph for the Ospreys.
