Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (2-0) used a 6-1 spurt in the second half to pull away from Rowan University (1-4) for a 14-9 victory that was Stockton's first win over the Profs in program history. The Ospreys had lost the first six meetings.
Jennifer Toal (Pine Beach/Toms River South) scored a team-high four goals and added one assist plus a game-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Allie Bremer (Oakland/Indian Hills) led all players with seven points on three goals and four assists.
Bremer also snatched four draw controls, second only to teammate
Michelle Pascrell (Howell/Freehold Twp.) who finished with seven draw controls as well as three goals, one assist, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The teams went back and forth in the first 17 minutes, resulting in four ties and three lead changes. Goals by Bremer, Pascrell,
Casey Shultz (Sewell/Washington Twp.) and
Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) offset four markers by the Profs for a 4-4 tie.
Stockton took the lead for good on consecutive goals by Toal, Pascrell and Bremer for a 7-4 lead at the half but the Profs netted the first two counters of the second stanza to pull within 7-6.
Nicole Jandras (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) answered for Stockton and Toal followed with two straight goals to give the Ospreys some breathing room at 10-6. After Rowan got one back, Stockton reeled off three more tallies in a two-minute span to put the game out of reach.
Bremer started the three-goal burst and Toal hit the net 50 seconds later. Freshman
Amanda Belej (Cliffwood/Mount St. Mary Academy) then potted her first career goal to increase the lead to 13-7. Pascrell later was the final scorer for the Ospreys as they topped Rowan for the first time, 14-9.

Stevie Ader (Califon/Voorhees) earned the win with nine saves and a .500 save percentage.
Jessica Catalioto (Ringwood/Lakeland) contributed four draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Ashley Lechliter paced Rowan with four goals followed by Elise Cohan with three. Profs' goalie Reilly Shaup finished with six saves.
The game was designated as a non-conference matchup. The teams will meet again in an NJAC tilt at Stockton next Tuesday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
