Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-10, 2-6 NJAC) fell twice to Rowan University (14-4, 8-0 NJAC) by scores of 9-2 and 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Angie Dunphy (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) had two hits in the first game for Stockton.
The Profs jumped out early scoring six runs in the top of the first frame. Dunphy plated a run with an RBI single that scored
Meg Murzello (Maple Shade/Holy Cross) in the bottom of the firs to make it 6-1 in favor of Rowan.
After the visitors scored a pair in the sixth,
Liani Ortiz (Marlton/Cherokee) knocked in the final run of the day for Stockton with an RBI double in the 9-2 defeat.
Samantha McErlane (Mount Ephraim/Audubon) was solid in relief, striking out two and scattering seven hits in six innings pitched.
Michaela Luyber (Bordentown/Bordentown) pinch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning and rapped her first career hit.

Stevie Unger (Tower City, PA/Williams Valley) took the circle in the nightcap and threw well, allowing all eight runs but only four earned. Home runs by Kelly Duffy and Cat Thomas were the big blows for the Profs in the 8-0 game.
Megan McManus (Northfield/Mainland) smacked a double for the Ospreys.
Complete games by Emily August in game one and Thomas in game two, spurred the Profs to the wins.
Stockton will travel to Wayne, NJ to take on William Paterson in a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 pm.
