Stockton Goes to 4-0 with 5-2 Victory

St. Davids, Pa. – Stockton University (4-0) snapped a 2-2 tie by scoring the last three goals of the game to defeat Eastern University (1-2) 5-2 for its fourth straight win. Tori Wilson (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) scored twice to lead the Ospreys.

Wilson gave Stockton an early 1-0 lead just 4:25 into the game. Freshman Alexandria Palumbo (Mantua/Clearview) upped the count to 2-0 a little over three minutes later with an assist by Madison Maguire (Swedesboro/Kingsway).

Eastern responded with a pair of tallies by Hailey Ferry 10 minutes apart overlapping the first and second quarters to pull into a 2-2 tie. With only 1:31 remaining in the first half, Gianna Morganti (Berlin/St. Joseph) potted her ninth goal of the season to give Stockton the lead for good at 3-2.

The Ospreys dominated the second half with advantages of 17-0 in shots and 9-0 in penalty corners. Wilson netted her second marker of the game at the 35:32 mark and rookie Autumn Hunter (Harleysville, Pa./East Souderton) earned her first career point with the assist.

Later in the third stanza, Madison Dancisin (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) added her first goal of the season to complete the scoring in the 5-2 triumph.

Stockton goaltender Kylie Mitchell (Shamong/Seneca) recorded the win with five saves. Eastern goalies Abby Agapito and Kylie Troyer made six saves apiece as the Ospreys outshot the Eagles 28-9 on the day.
