Stockton Cruises To 6-1 Win Over Centenary

 Hackettstown, NJ – Stockton University (4-1-1) won for the fourth consecutive time as the Ospreys rolled past Centenary College (1-2) by a 6-1 score on Wednesday afternoon. Five different Ospreys scored goals, including three players with their first career goals. The team was led by freshman Erica Dietz (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) who potted the first two goals of her career on the day.
 
The Ospreys got off to a quick start, scoring four times in the first half. Freshman Emily Hauck (Lebanon, PA/Northern Lebanon) scored the first goal of the day in the 20th minute for a 1-0 lead. At the 28:40 mark, fellow frosh Sophia Drea (Medford/Shawnee) tallied her first collegiate goal, with an assist from Hauck.
 
Dietz then ended the half with her pair of markers. The rookie scored at the 40:23 on a shot to the low left corner. Just 1:11 later, she scored to the low right corner to give Stockton a commanding 4-0 margin at the break.
 
Stockton kept up the pressure in the second half, when Heather Bertollo (Hawthorne/Hawthorne) potted her second goal of the season in the 55th minute. A little more than six minutes later, Daniela Nunez (Galloway/Absegami) hit the net for the first time in her career to make it 6-0. The Cyclones were able to avoid the shutout, breaking through at 78:25 to set the final score at 6-1 in favor of the Ospreys.
 
Stockton peppered the Cyclones with 16 shots on the day, including 11 on net and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Kylee Sullivan (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) started in net playing the first half and made one save. Freshman Megan Brady (Rockaway/Morris Hills) finished up the contest, kicking out two shots. Rachel Colt started in goal for Centenary playing the first 45 minutes with a two save effort. Chelsea Cordice played the second half, making three saves.
 
Stockton will begin NJAC Play on Saturday, when the Ospreys travel to Jersey City to face New Jersey City University. Game time is set for 1 pm.
