Hoboken, NJ – Stockton University (3-9, 1-0 NJAC) faced off against two tough squads in the Castle Point Challenge at Stevens, but came up on the short end of a pair of losses on Saturday. The Ospreys fell to host Stevens (9-1) 3-0 (25-22, 31-29, 25-21) and Clarkson (8-3) 3-1 by scores of 25-15, 25-15, 17-25 and 25-22.
Charlotte Leon (Northport, NY/Northport) topped the Ospreys with 28 kills on the day, that included 18 against Clarkson.

In the first match of the day, Stockton battled, but could not come away with a win. Leon and
Caity Ullmer (Midland Park/Midland Park) spiked 10 kills each, while the Ospreys blocked 22 shots at the net. Freshman
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) stuffed seven attempts with fellow frosh
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) and sophomore
Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) blocking five each.

Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished 25 assists, with
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) scooping 20 digs.

Against Clarkson, Stockton fell two sets to none, before capturing the third stanza 25-17. The Ospreys mounted a charge in the fourth but fell short in the 3-1 loss. Leon and Ullmer again led the way with 18 and 10 kills respectively. Rentzel had another big match with 33 assists, giving her 68 on the day for a 9.71 assist per set average.

Alice Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) and Marziello were strong on the back line, with Brandt getting 16 digs and two aces, while Marziello scooped 14 digs and served three aces. Rolle stuffed two more attempts upping her total to nine blocks on the day.
At the conclusion of play at the Castle Point Challenge, Leon and Witherspoon were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Stockton will return to NJAC Play on Tuesday night when the Ospreys will face Rutgers-Newark in Newark, NJ. The match is scheduled for 7pm.
