Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (4-4-1) extended their unbeaten streak to three straight matches, with a 0-0 draw against Haverford (2-4-1) on Tuesday night.
Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) posted his second straight shutout and 12th of his career in the game.
Â
The first half was all Fords as they pressured the Ospreys but could not find the net in the scoreless stanza. The visitors held a slim 6-5 margin in shots but only one on net, while Stockton put three attempts on the goal against Haverford.
Â
The second frame was the opposite of the first as the Ospreys played with a sense of urgency and almost made it pay off. In the 84th minute
Max Bond (Cherry Hill/Cherry Hill West) blasted a shot that just sailed wide left. Just over three minutes later,
Peter Kozlej (Toms River/Toms River East) banged a shot off the crossbar and the game remained tied at 0-0.
Â
Michael Echeverria (Linden/St. Joseph) had the only shot for either team in the first extra frame but that missed to the right. Stockton almost had the game winner in the second overtime, but a foul on the Ospreys in the box negated an attempted goal and the match ended in the scoreless draw.
Â
Gromitsaris made five saves in the shutout, while the Fords netminder Dylan Ioffreda kicked out four Osprey attempts. Â
Â
Stockton will return to NJAC play on Saturday when the Ospreys will face Ramapo in Galloway. The match is scheduled for 2 pm.
