Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (5-9, 3-5 NJAC) could not hold onto a late fourth quarter lead and dropped a 55-49 decision to New Jersey City University (4-4, 2-2 NJAC) on Wednesday evening.  Freshman
Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) scored 13 points, while senior
Grace Sacco (Ocean City/Ocean City) added 10 markers off the bench.

The Ospreys got off to a solid start running out to a 17-12 advantage after one period. LaRosa banged in a trio of three pointers during the run, with
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) tallying four points.

Stockton extended the margin to 27-19 at the break, outscoring the Gothic Knights 10-7 in the second frame. A traditional three-point play by
Jaiden Harris (Lindenwold/Our Lady of Mercy) highlighted the quarter. Neither squad shot well from the field, but Stockton was able to forge the advantage at the half.

The visitors came out of the locker room on a 10-2 run to knot the game at 29-29 with 5:27 left in the third period. The Ospreys were able to withstand the surge with a 10-4 spurt of their own to re-take the lead at 39-33 at the 2:28 mark. Sacco tallied four of the markers during the run to help the home squad to a 40-36 lead after three quarters of play.

Stockton owned a slight 49-46 margin on a Sacco floater, but that was the last points the Ospreys would score with 2:47 left in regulation. NJCU rattled off the final nine points to secure the 55-49 victory.

In addition to LaRosa and Sacco, freshman
Sanaa Parks (Westampton/Rancocas Valley) led the Ospreys with a career-high 10 rebounds in a career-best 36 minutes of play.

NJCU was topped by the NJAC's leading scorer Damaris Rodriguez with a game-high 27 points with Laney Fox adding 12 markers. The conference's leading rebounder, Liyah Allen grabbed a game-high 18 boards as both squads grabbed 46 rebounds each for the contest.

Stockton will face off against Rutgers-Newark at home on Saturday for their next game. The contest will tip-off at 1 pm.
