Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-9, 4-5 NJAC) dominated the second half on the way to a 62-46 victory over Rutgers-Newark (3-10, 0-7 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Nalya Hill (Bloomfield/DePaul Catholic) led the Ospreys with career highs of 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The contest started slowly with Stockton forging a 9-8 lead after one period. The game picked up pace during the second stanza with the Scarlet Raiders taking a 19-14 advantage with 3:26 left before halftime.

The Ospreys then rattled off 10 of the last 14 points to take a slim 27-25 lead at the break. Â Freshman
Jaiden Harris (Lindenwold/Our Lady of Mercy) came off the bench to score seven points during the spurt, with Hill adding six points and nine boards during the first 20 minutes of play.

The home squad then built on the slim halftime margin with a 17-12 third quarter, as Hill, Harris and
Ionyonia Alves (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) powered their way to a combined 13 points in the paint to push Stockton to a 44-37 lead after three quarters.

Stockton broke the game open in the final stanza with a 15-0 run in just over a six-minute span. After a Scarlet Raiders basket, Hill, along with freshman
Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional), tallied 14 of the 15 markers to give the Ospreys a commanding lead at 59-40 with 2:38 remaining in regulation. From there it became academic as Stockton got back into the win column with the 62-46 victory.

Hill shot an efficient 9-15 (60.0%) from the field and finished with a game-high four assists. LaRosa and Harris added 11 points each, with Harris setting a new career high in points. LaRosa also pilfered four steals to lead all players.

Samiyah Horton scored 13 points to top the Scarlet Raiders with Ebony Odom Barnes snagging 10 rebounds.

Stockton will take on Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday night for the Ospreys' next contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Camden.
