Camden, N.J. – Stockton University (13-3, 8-2 NJAC) began the second round of conference play with a 73-50 victory over Rutgers-Camden (0-13, 0-10 NJAC). The Ospreys forced 27 turnovers by the home team and converted them into 32 points off turnovers.
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) went 4-9 (44.4%) from three-point range and tallied a team-high 17 points plus a game-high five steals.
Milo De Los Santos (Hopewell Valley/Hopewell Valley) also reached double figures with 11 points.
Nick Duncsak (Toms River/TR North) contributed eight points in 13 minutes on 3-4 field goal shooting including 2-3 from beyond the arc. All 15 healthy Ospreys played in the game and 12 of them scored in a balanced performance by Stockton.
The Ospreys dominated the first half, leading by as much as 21 points in the period. Trailing 9-8, Stockton seized control of the game with a 19-3 run during which six different players scored. Campbell led the charge, which resulted in a 28-11 advantage, with eight points.
A Campbell three-pointer with 1:22 on the clock made it 41-20 on the way to a 41-23 halftime lead. Stockton shot 53.6 percent (15-28) from the floor including 7-15 (46.7%) from beyond the arc before the intermission. Campbell poured in 15 first-half points.
Stockton coasted in the second half, staying in front by at least 15 points for the entire period. All 15 Ospreys played at least three minutes, with De Los Santos topping the squad with eight second-half points as Stockton sailed to the 73-50 triumph.
Gavin Henry tossed in 14 points for Rutgers-Camden, shooting 3-6 from three-point land.
Stockton will host Ramapo in a conference game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
