Stockton Downs Ramapo 71-59

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (14-3, 9-2 NJAC) led from start to finish in posting its third consecutive win, 71-59 over Ramapo (4-11, 3-8 NJAC) in a conference game at The Sports Center. The Ospreys led by as much as 17 in the victory.
 
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) scored a game-high 21 points and tied for the game lead with six rebounds. Campbell sank four three-pointers in the contest.
 
Rynell Lawrence (Millville/Millville) tossed in a season-high 12 points. Kyion Flanders (Wildwood/Wildwood) also reached double figures with 10 points.
 
Kadian Dawkins (Eastampton/Rancocas Valley) played a strong all-around game as he scored six points, tied for the game lead with six rebounds and dealt a game-high five assists. Dawkins also added two steals and committed just one turnover in 36 minutes as Stockton's point guard.
 
Nick Duncsak (Toms River/TR North) sparked the Ospreys to a 12-2 lead with five early points. The margin later reached 13 at 35-22 after two free throws by Dawkins in the final minute of the first half.
 
Stockton led 35-24 at the break behind a balanced attack. Campbell tossed in a team-high eight points followed by Flanders and Jordan Williams (Trenton/Trenton Central) with seven markers apiece. The Ospreys shot 13-16 (81.3%) at the free throw line in the half.
 
The Ospreys stayed in front by double digits for the opening 10-plus minutes of the second half. A three-pointer by Lawrence gave Stockton its largest lead at 50-33. Stockton then went scoreless for the next 4:22 while Ramapo closed the gap with 15 straight points to make it a two-point game at 50-48 with 7:52 remaining.
 
After two free throws by Alan Glover (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh), Campbell sank a trey and was fouled. He drained the ensuing free throw for a rare four-point play that upped the lead to 56-48 at the 6:48 mark.
 
Stockton led by at least five points the rest of the way to clinch the 71-59 triumph. Campbell and Lawrence sparked the Ospreys with 13 and 10 points respectively in the second half as the duo combined for 23 of the team's 36 markers in the period.
 
Stockton again shot well at the line, going 10-12 (83.3%) to finish 23-28 (82.1%) for the game. Stockton's 23 points at the stripe were a season high.
 
Mansfield Warren and Marquise Kindel paced Ramapo with 13 points apiece. Peter Gorman finished with 11 markers for the Roadrunners.
 
Stockton will home again on Wednesday when the Ospreys host Rowan University at 8 p.m.
