Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (7-10, 5-6 NJAC) rallied late but could not overcome a cold shooting second half and dropped a 59-50 decision to Ramapo College (7-7, 6-5 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Nalya Hill (Bloomfield/DePaul Catholic) continued her outstanding play with her third consecutive double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Ospreys bounced out of the gate strong after allowing the Roadrunners to score the first four points of the game.
Grace Sacco (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored four points in a 12-2 run to vault Stockton to a 12-6 lead. The home team finished off the period leading 14-11 after one frame.

Both teams struggled in the second period, but Stockton was able to add another point to the margin. The Ospreys won the quarter 8-7, with
Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) pilfering back-to-back steals and baskets to top the team in the period, giving Stockton a slim 22-18 advantage after one half.

Hill scored four quick points to open the third quarter, but then the Ospreys shooting got cold. Holding a 26-21 lead at 6:50 of the frame, the Roadrunners rattled off seven straight points for a 28-26 lead. Sacco's basket tied the contest at 28 all, only to see the visitors score six of the last eight points to stretch the margin to 34-30 after three periods of play.

Stockton's shooting woes continued in the final quarter as Ramapo ran off on a 18-3 run to take a 52-33 advantage with 2:48 remaining in regulation. The Ospreys fought back, with
Ionyonia Alves (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) scoring six points in the final 17-7 run, but it was not overcome the margin, falling 59-50.

In addition to Hill's big game, Sacco added 11 points and dished a game-high seven assists. Morrone grabbed a game-high three steals to go with six points.

Jada Thompson topped all players in the game for Ramapo with 21 points and 15 rebounds, including 7-11 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line. Teammates Jackie Ventricelli and Shannon Burns added 10 markers each.

Stockton will play their second straight home game on Wednesday night, when the Ospreys will take on Rowan University. Game time is scheduled for 6 pm.
