Montclair, NJ – Stockton University (6-5, 0-2 NJAC) dropped their second straight conference match by a 2-0 score to Montclair State (7-5, 2-1 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Ameera Bilgrami (Voorhees/Eastern) topped the Ospreys with three shots on net.

After a scoreless first period, the Red Hawks tallied the first goal of the contest with just over seven minutes to play before halftime for a 1-0 lead. Stockton tried a furious rally to knot the game just before the half.

Kirsten Bailey (Burlington/Burlington Twp.) took a shot at 28:58 that was saved by a defender. Bailey then took a penalty corner and inserted the ball to
Hannah McKensie (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) 10 seconds later for a shot that was kicked out. Bilgrami gathered the rebound three seconds after that but also was denied.

Jenna Fiorito (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) had another chance that went wide, and the Ospreys went to the break down by one goal.

Just 3:18 into the third quarter the Red Hawks tallied the insurance goal to make it 2-0. The home team's defense stiffened in the final frame allowing just one shot by Stockton and set the final score at 2-0.

The Ospreys will return home to face William Paterson for an NJAC match on Tuesday. Game time is 5 p.m. on the Stockton Turf Field.
