Results
Collegeville, Pa. – Stockton University concluded the fall semester by competing in the Bow Tie Invitational at Ursinus College on Friday night. The Osprey women tied for first out of 11 teams and the Stockton men finished second out of 12 squads. All of the participating teams were from NCAA Division III.
Shahyan Abraham (Orange/Orange) led Stockton with a win out of 38 competitors in the shot put (12.93m) plus a runner-up finish out of 23 in the weight throw (14.22m).
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) won the mile in a field of 25 (5:33.73) and freshman
Madelyn Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) finished second (5:34.13).
Madison Fey (Easton, Pa./Freedom) tied for first place in the pole vault (2.90m) and Stockton won the 4x400 relay (4:18.54), with sophomore
Meredith O'Donnell (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) joined by a trio of freshmen in
Emma Conroy (Matawan/Matawan),
Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) and
Gabriella Collins (Matawan/Matawan).
Petrolia also was the runner-up in the triple jump (10.46m) while
Kaitlyn Vervier (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) and
Rachel Hayes (Marlboro/St. John Vianney) finished second in the high jump (1.55m) and 800m (2:28.65) respectively.
Carson Latham (Bordentown/Bordentown) paced the Stockton men's team with a win in the 200m (22.96 seconds) and third place out of 38 sprinters in the 60m (7.13 seconds). Freshman
Connor Wright (Sicklerville/Hammonton) won the long jump for the second straight week (6.83m).
Freshman
Gavin Lum (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) earned his first career victory by winning the 60m hurdles (8.91 seconds) and
Luke McBrearty (Hammonton/Hammonton) tied for first in the pole vault (4.10m).
Christian Rowe (Bayville/Central Regional) finished second in the triple jump (13.09m) while Lum,
Greg Lordi (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson),
Matthew Keidat (Margate/Holy Spirit) and
Colin Hueston (Metuchen/Metuchen) placed third out of 19 teams in the 4x400 relay.
Stockton will break for final exams and the holidays before returning to action by competing in the TCNJ Lions Invitational at New York Armory on January 14.
