Stockton Downed 13-7 by Ursinus

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (2-2) played a close first half against Ursinus (3-3), which is ranked 20th in the USILA Division III poll, but faltered in the second half and suffered a 13-7 defeat. The Ospreys were outscored 8-2 in the second half.

Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) scored four goals and dished one assist for five points as he established career highs for goals and points in a game. Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) tossed in two goals while Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) added a goal and an assist.

The teams each scored three times in the opening quarter, with Capozzoli connecting twice and Poli once for the Ospreys. Stockton and Ursinus alternated markers in the second quarter as Swedlund and Capozzoli struck for Ospreys. Capozzoli's tally came with just 16 seconds left in the period and tied the game 5-5.

Capozzoli potted his fourth goal of the game with 2:36 gone in the third quarter to give the Ospreys a short-lived 6-5 edge. Ursinus then reeled off four straight tallies to jump in front 9-6. Swedlund halted the run with 2:51 left in the third stanza, but Stockton did not score again.

An Ursinus goal just 13 seconds after Swedlund hit the net made it 11-7 and the Bears tacked on two more counters in the fourth quarter for the 13-7 final score.

Stockton goalkeeper Eric Lindskog (Montville/Montville) made 12 saves in the game. Lindskog has a double-digit save total in all four games of the season thus far. Logan Holleritter (Oak Ridge/Jefferson Twp.) tied for game-high honors with five ground balls and notched one caused turnover.

Ursinus' Tyler Neal registered four goals and an assist to tie Capozzoli for the scoring lead in the game. Erik Ojert netted three goals and Jonathan Singer made 15 saves in net for the Bears.
