Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (10-3, 3-2 NJAC) suffered a 6-3 setback in an NJAC home match against New Jersey City (5-5, 3-1 NJAC).
Elena Nunez (Madrid, Spain/Rye (NY)) contributed to two of the three team points.
Nunez and
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, however Stockton dropped the other two doubles matches and fell behind 2-1.
The Ospreys were unable to rally as they captured only two of the six singles matches. Nunez prevailed in a super-tiebreaker after splitting sets for a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) triumph.at No. 3 singles.
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) notched a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles.
Stockton will have a week off before playing an NJAC match at Ramapo next Saturday, April 23 at noon.
