Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (8-5, 2-1) saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt, as the Ospreys fell to The College of New Jersey (11-1, 4-0 NJAC) 19-8 on Tuesday afternoon.
Casey Shultz (Sewell/Washington Twp.) led Stockton with three goals and one assist for four points on the day.

The Lions are ranked #6 in NCAA Division III by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), while Stockton was just outside the Top 25 in receiving votes in the latest poll.

The home team came out of the gate strong, scoring the first six goals of the game, including the first two in a span of 42 seconds.
Casey Shultz (Sewell/Washington Twp.) got Stockton on the board with her 24th goal of the year at the end of the first frame.

Freshman
Emily Deworsop (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) Â opened the second quarter with her eighth goal of the season, to slice the margin to 6-2, before TCNJ ran away from the Ospreys. Eight straight markers made it 14-2 at the break in favor of the Lions.

TCNJ sandwiched goals around a pair by Stockton in a 2-2 third period.

Kerstin Axe (Milmont Park, PA/Ridley) and
Allie Bremer (Oakland/Indian Hills), from
Jennifer Toal (Pine Beach/Toms River South) gave the Ospreys a glimmer of hope at 16-4 after three quarters.

The Ospreys potted four consecutive tallies to start the final frame to cut the margin in half at 16-8 with 5:11 remaining. A pair by Shultz and one each by
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/Our Lady of Mercy) and
Holly Yannacone (Manahawkin/Southern Regional, gave the visitors momentum. TCNJ ended the threat by scoring the final three goals of the match and the 19-8 victory.

Kylie Evans (Marlton/Cherokee) led the defense with five ground balls and four caused turnovers, with Pascrell winning five draw controls. Goalkeeper
Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) made seven saves in net for Stockton.

Jenifer LaRocca scored two goals and dished six assists for an eight-point day to lead the Lions. Ally Tobler and Natalie Berry had four goals each. Goalkeeper Julia Charest played the first three quarters and made six saves in garnering the win. Hailey Wexler finished up with one save to her credit.

Stockton will be back in action on Friday afternoon, when the Ospreys will face Montclair State at home. Game time is scheduled for 5 pm.
