Stockton Rallies for 2-2 Tie with Shenandoah

Rocky Mount, N.C. – Stockton University (2-2-1) scored twice in the last 13 minutes to rally and earn a 2-2 tie with unbeaten Shenandoah University (3-0-2) in the first of two games for the Ospreys at the North Carolina Wesleyan Classic.

Rylee Getter (Galloway/Absegami) and Erica Dietz (Allentown, Pa./Central Catholic) each scored a goal in the comeback. Stockton was outshot 19-8 overall but capitalized on its late-game opportunities.

Shenandoah scored a pair of goals 1:12 apart in the first half for a 2-0 lead. The Ospreys still faced a two-goal deficit after 78 minutes of action. Getter pulled Stockton within one by finding the net with a shot at 78:15.

Dietz later struck for the tying goal with just 2:57 on the second-half clock. The Ospreys then held on for the tie as a Shenandoah shot hit the crossbar with 1:06 remaining and Stockton goalkeeper Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made two saves in the final minute.

Keil came off the bench and played the second half in her college debut, making 10 saves. Shenandoah keeper Karissa Dominick made five saves in the match.

Stockton will face tournament host North Carolina Wesleyan tomorrow at 2 p.m.
