Dover, Del. - Stockton University (1-1) took a step up in the class with a visit to NCAA Division I program Delaware State (1-0) for its first road match of the year. The Ospreys were defeated 9-0, although four of the nine matches were fairly close.

Sarb Devi (Galloway/Absegami) and Lily Muir (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) nearly earned a team point at No. 1 doubles but they were edged 7-5.

Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) won a team-high nine games in singles before falling 7-5, 6-4 in the closest match of the day. Brynn Bowman (Ocean City/Ocean City) and freshman Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) won eight games apiece in singles matches that both ended 7-5, 6-3.

Stockton will have a lengthy break before playing in the Goucher Invitational tournament on October 8.
