Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) was the only Osprey to get a shot on net against the stifling Red Hawk defense in the game. The Red Hawks are ranked #20 nationally by United Soccer Coaches.

The visitors outshot Stockton 5-2 during the first half of play and had five corner kicks but could not convert. The closest Stockton came was at the 4:24 of the opening frame, when
Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) fired a laser that banged off the near post. Hoenisch gathered the rebound, but it was kicked away as the match went scoreless through the rest of the half.

The Ospreys came alive later in the period, pressing the action. In the 75th minute
Sebi Morrello (North Caldwell/West Essex) squeezed off a shot that went wide. Stockton had a pair of corner kicks in the following three minutes but could not convert the opportunities and the final score was set at 1-0 in favor of Montclair State.
