Montclair, N.J. – Stockton University (5-5-1, 0-2 NJAC) was unable to keep up with unbeaten Montclair State (9-0, 2-0 NJAC) in a 4-0 setback to a Red Hawks team that is ranked 12th in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches.
The Ospreys stayed close for 76 minutes, yielding just one goal with 27:24 gone in the match. The game slipped away late as Montclair State netted three goals in a 10-minute span down the stretch for the 4-0 final.
Freshman goalkeeper
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) faced heavy pressure throughout the game as the Red Hawks registered 25 shot attempts. Keil, in her third college start, made nine saves, one off her career high.
Riley Finnegan (Pennington/Hopewell Valley) tallied two of Stockton's four shots in the match. Aileen Cahill and Kylie Prendergast led Montclair State with a goal and an assist apiece.
Stockton returns home to host Kean University in an NJAC match at the Stockton Turf Field on Saturday at 3 p.m.
