Salem, Va. – Stockton University (1-1) was edged 1-0 by host Roanoke College (1-0) in the first of two games for the Ospreys at the Roanoke Invitational. Stockton held a slight 11-10 edge in shots but the Maroons placed six shots on goal to just three for the Ospreys.

Liam Brett (Palmyra/Palmyra) made five saves but Roanoke's Jake Berecz broke through for the lone goal of the match with 6:28 left in the first half.
Owen Kitch (Medford/St. Augustine Prep) paced Stockton with three shots, including one off the crossbar in the second half. Roanoke keeper Zach Behe made three saves to blank the Ospreys, the last of which came on a
Mike McKeown (Blackwood/Highland) 57 seconds to play.
Stockton will be back in action tomorrow in Virginia, taking on Ithaca College (N.Y.) at 5 p.m.
