Madison, N.J. – Stockton University (2-2) could not break through for a score as the Ospreys fell to unbeaten Drew University (3-0) by a 1-0 final on Wednesday night. The Ospreys outshot the Rangers 12-8, led by
Erica Dietz (Allentown, Pa./Central Catholic) with five attempts.
Stockton surrendered the lone goal of the game at the 27:41 mark. Alexa Krause fired a shot that hit off the left post and her sixth tally of the season found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) with two and
Emily Hauck (Lebanon, PA/Northern Lebanon) with one had the shots on goal in the first stanza for the Ospreys.
The Ospreys had a couple of good opportunities in the second half as
Heather Bertollo (Hawthorne/Hawthorne) in the 68th minute, saw a shot kicked away, and Hauck with less than four minutes to play was denied as well.
Megan Brady (Rockaway/Morris Knolls) faced four shots on goal and made three saves for the Ospreys while Anthi Panayides saw 12 Osprey attempts and kicked out all six shots on goals for the Rangers in the shutout victory.
Stockton will travel to Rocky Mount, N.C. this weekend to play in the North Carolina Wesleyan Classic. The Ospreys will take on North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday at noon, then finish the Classic on Sunday with a match against Meredith College, also at noon.
