Stockton Downs Rutgers-Camden 48-37

Camden, N.J. – Stockton University (10-9, 5-7 NJAC) moved back over .500 with a 48-37 win over Rutgers-Camden (2-17, 0-12) that was its second straight triumph. The Ospreys dominated the first and fourth quarters on the way to victory.
 
Nicole Strumolo (Denville/Morris Catholic) tied her career high with 13 points for the second time in three games. Strumolo scored efficiently, going 5-8 (62.5%) from the floor and 3-4 (75%) at the line.
 
Adriyana Jennings (Camden/Winslow Twp.) posted her league-leading 10th double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Stockton dominated the glass 48-30 as Madison LaRosa (Oceanport/Shore Regional) and Madison Dulude (Sewell/Washington Twp.) each grabbed seven boards and scored four points.
 
Jennings and Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) netted four points apiece to spark the Ospreys to a 10-2 lead in the first quarter. The lead swelled to 17-5 in the second period before Rutgers-Camden used a 12-3 run to cut Stockton's advantage to 20-17 at the break.
 
The Scarlet Raptors briefly pulled ahead 27-26 late in the third quarter but Strumolo sank a jumper to put Stockton back on top 28-27 after three. The Ospreys then doubled the home team 20-10 in the fourth quarter behind blistering 6-7 (85.7%) shooting from the field and 8-10 (80%) at the line.
 
Strumolo scored eight straight points to spur Stockton to a 40-29 lead with 5:39 remaining. Emma Morrone (Maywood/Hackensack) later went 6-8 at the stripe and Fathi added two free throws as the Ospreys clinched their second straight win, 48-37.
 
Jalissa Pitts paced Rutgers-Camden with a game-high 19 points plus 10 rebounds. Razirah Blocker added 12 points for the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Stockton will continue its three-game road trip with a visit to William Paterson on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
