Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (7-2-5, 1-1-3 NJAC) extended its unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1) with a 0-0 tie against The College of New Jersey (3-9-2, 1-3-1) at G. Larry James Stadium. The game was Stockton's third in five days.
Stockton goalkeeper
Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made five saves and recorded the seventh shutout of his freshman season.
Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) and
Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) led the Ospreys with four shot attempts apiece.
The teams each made some dangerous forays into the box but could not capitalize on any of their opportunities. TCNJ generated eight corner kicks while Stockton notched six corners in the match.
With just under a minute remaining, Bartletta made a diving save on a shot by Matias Hornos that was labeled for the bottom left corner. Hornos also hit the crossbar with a shot in the 10th minute. Carbone narrowly missed on a shot just outside the right post in the 66th minute.
Lions' goalie Julian Franco matched Bartletta with five saves to collect a shutout of his own.
Stockton will be home again on Saturday for an NJAC game against New Jersey City University that has been moved up to 10:00 a.m. in order to get out in front of expected rain.
