Ewing, NJ – Stockton University (7-1-6, 1-1-3 NJAC) dropped their first match of the season, falling to The College of New Jersey (10-1-1, 5-0 NJAC) 6-0 on Wednesday night. The loss snapped the Ospreys school-tying 13 match unbeaten streak set in 1998. The Lions are ranked #14 nationally by the United Soccer Coaches.
The home team dominated the score sheet, outshooting the Ospreys 28-1, with 18 on net. Stockton's one attempt came from
Kayla Rozanski (Woodbury/Woodbury), but her header missed wide in the 25th minute.
The Lions potted a pair of goals in the first half and salted the match away with four more tallies in the final stanza.
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) saw her scoreless streak end at the 21:29 mark, giving her 895:59 minutes played before allowing her first goal of the season. She played 73:33 and made a career-high 11 saves in the loss.
Megan Brady (Rockaway /Morris Knolls) finished the game in net making one save.
Stockton will travel to Jersey City to face New Jersey City on Saturday afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 3 pm.
