Stockton Races by Roadrunners 6-0

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-2-5, 4-1-3 NJAC) exploded for five goals in the second half, in taking a 6-0 win over Ramapo College (4-10-2, 1-7-0 NJAC) on Saturday morning. Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) led the onslaught with three goals on the day and extended the Ospreys' unbeaten streak to seven straight matches.

Hoenisch opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first half for a 1-0 lead. After a foul in the box, the junior deposited his fifth penalty kick of the season for the one goal margin, that would last until the break.

The Ospreys then ran off five straight markers in a span of 7:11 to seal the victory. Uche Wokocha (Galloway/St. Augustine) headed in his second goal of the season at 60:00 for a 2-0 lead. His marker came off a corner kick assist by Jake Homowitz (Tinton Falls/Christian Brothers Academy).

Less than three minutes later, Joseph A. Carbone (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) took a long outlet pass from Homowitz and hit the back of the net to make it a three-goal advantage. 51 seconds after, JP Candela (Howell/Howell) took a pass from Homowitz for his second goal. The rookie's shot deflected off a Ramapo defender and found its way into the net and the third helper of the day for Homowitz.

Hoenisch finished his hat trick starting in the 67th minute, when he took a crossing pass from Carbone for the 5-0 margin. The junior finished the scoring 41 seconds later after taking a pass from Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune). Louisius sent Hoenisch in, and he hit the lower right corner for his 12th goal of the season.

Every available player for the Ospreys saw time in the match during the final 33 minutes in the 6-0 victory.

All three net minders saw action, starting with freshman Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley), who played the first 67:11 making two saves for the win in net.  Kyle Birmingham (Budd Lake/Mt. Olive) saw action for 12:52 and kicked out one shot. Matthew Faria (Edison/Edison) finished up the combined shutout without having to make a stop.

Stockton, who has clinched a spot in the NJAC Tournament, will finish the regular season on Wednesday night. The Ospreys will face Rowan University in Glassboro for a 7pm kickoff.
