Stockton Sweeps Rutgers-Camden

Camden, NJ – Stockton University (19-9, 8-0 NJAC) completed an unbeaten conference schedule with a 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Camden (13-13, 3-5 NJAC) on Tuesday night. The scores were 25-23, 25-19 and 25-21. Nicole Palmer (East Islip, NY/East Islip) led the balanced attack with 10 kills on the evening. It is the ninth time in head coach Allison Walker's tenure that the Ospreys have gone undefeated in NJAC play.

The first set saw the Scarlet Raptors jump out to a 21-18 lead late, but a 7-2 run by Stockton captured the first set. The second stanza was just as tight until the Ospreys ran off on a 5-1 run in the middle of the set. A pair of kills by Palmer set the tone as Stockton never trailed again in the 25-19 win.

The home team led 6-3 early in the final set, but once again, the Ospreys responded to knot the period at 9-9. Rutgers-Camden ran off and led 17-14, but Stockton answered. A 6-0 run, spurred by a pair of kills by Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) lifted the visitors to a 20-17 advantage. The Ospreys finished off the set in the 25-21 victory to seal the match.

Louer, Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) and Rileigh Wilson (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen) chipped in with six kills each in support of Palmer on the night.

The setter combo of Regan Mendick (Newark, DE/Red Lion Christian) and Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished 12 and 16 assists respectively, with Rentzel adding eight digs. Freshmen McKenna Ritchie (Newark DE/Newark Charter School) and Lauren Sommer (York, PA/Central York) each had 10 digs to top the squad.

Stockton will finish the regular season on Saturday when the Ospreys play a non-conference tri-match. Stockton will take on Neumann University at 10 am, then follow with a match against Eastern University at 2 pm.
