Stockton Ties Record with Draw

Galloway NJ – Stockton University (7-0-6, 1-0-3 NJAC) played to a 0-0 tie with William Paterson (3-4-4, 1-2-1 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. In doing so, the Ospreys tied the school record for the longest unbeaten streak at 13 straight matches set in 1998. Stockton put seven shots on net in the game led by Emily Hauck (Lebanon, PA/Northern Lebanon) with two attempts.

The Ospreys held a 7-4 advantage in shots against the scrappy Pioneers but could not get a shot to go in the net. All four of the visitors' attempts were on net but turned away by Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit).

Stockton ramped up the pace in the second stanza, but the Pioneers were up to the task. The Ospreys' best chance came in the 86th minute when Bella Bednarz (Keyport/Keyport) fired a shot that was kicked away by netminder Sarah Mantilla. Neither team could muster another scoring opportunity as time ran out on the 0-0 tie.

Keil extended her scoreless streak to 874:30 to start the season, making six saves in posting her ninth shutout of the season, leading the NJAC.

Julia Fiorito and Christina Jimenez each had two of the six shots on goal for William Paterson. Mantilla made seven saves in net.

Stockton will play the first of two road matches, when the Ospreys travel to Ewing, NJ to face The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night. Game time is scheduled for 6 pm.
