Chester, Pa. – Stockton University (0-1) opened the 2023-24 season at the Widener University Tip-Off for Autism Awareness tournament, where the Ospreys fell to Roanoke College (1-0) 85-74.
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) sank two three-pointers to become Stockton's career leader with 252 treys.

Jalen Collins (Blackwood/Triton) made an impressive Stockton debut with a team-high 20 points in his first game as an Osprey. Collins shot 9-11 (81.8%) from the floor.
Martin Anguelov (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) contributed nine points and a career-high six assists.
Campbell hit two three-pointers in the first half, breaking the record of 251 by Carl Cochran (1993-97) with 5:35 left in the period to equal Stockton's largest lead of eight points at 33-25. Anguelov made it 35-27 just over a minute later but Roanoke outscored the Ospreys 12-3 for a 39-38 edge at the half.
Stockton was unable to keep pace with Roanoke's torrid 59.3% shooting in the second half. By contrast, the Ospreys went just 1-12 from three-point range in the second stanza. A layup by Collins got Stockton within 64-63 with 8:59 to play, however Roanoke went on a 16-4 run to seal the outcome.
Transfer
Christian Armstrong-Thomas (Marlton/Cherokee) produced a solid line of seven points, a team-high six rebounds and four assists in his first game for Stockton.
Diante Miles (Wildwood/Wildwood) chipped in with eight points, five rebounds and three assists.
Justin Kuthan paced Roanoke with game highs of 30 points and nine boards. Zach Rosenthal and Marcus Morgan scored 17 and 12 points respectively.
Stockton will play in the consolation game of the Widener University Tip-Off for Autism Awareness tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
