Chester, PA – Stockton University (1-1) evened their record to start the 2023-24 season with a 91-75 victory over King's (PA) College (1-2) on Saturday afternoon at the Widener Tip-Off for Autism Awareness Classic.
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) led a quartet of Ospreys in double figures with 16 points.

After a close first half, the Ospreys turned up the pace in the last 7:44 of the half. Eight points by
Jalen Collins (Blackwood/Triton) spurred an 18-8 run to give Stockton a 45-43 advantage at the half and a lead that Stockton would not relinquish.

The final stanza was all Stockton as the visitors outscored the Monarchs 46-32 as the lead did not get below five points in the last 20 minutes of play. With Stockton leading 77-70 at the 5:39 mark,
Martin Anguelov (Cape May/Wildwood Catholic) tallied five points down the stretch to help the Ospreys on a 14-5 spurt to seal the 91-75 win.

In addition to Campbell,
Tayvon Gaither (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) tied his career highs with 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Collins added 15 markers on 7-13 (.538) shooting and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of play. Anguelov chipped in with 10 points and a team-high four assists.

Chris Patton led all scorers with 17 points for the Monarchs. Eamonn Walsh scored 14, with teammates Jaden hall and Connor Griffin adding 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Stockton will travel to Aberdeen, SD next weekend to play in the Small College Basketball Champions Classic. The Ospreys will play Keene State on Friday, before taking on St. John's University (MN) on Saturday. Both games will start at 2pm.
