11/2/2023 11:07:00 AM

Galloway, NJ – Six Stockton University men's soccer teammates were rewarded for their play with NJAC postseason honors for the 2023 season. The six Ospreys have led Stockton to an 11-3-5 record and a berth in the NJAC Tournament semifinals. The team's 11 victories are the most by a Stockton men's soccer team since 2017 (14 wins).

Freshman goalkeeper Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) was voted NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC Honorable Mention. Bartletta became Stockton's second consecutive NJAC Rookie of the Year and 11th in program history. Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) was chosen NJAC First Team.

Jake Homowitz (Tinton Falls/Christian Brothers Academy) and Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) earned NJAC Second Team honors. Dawson Joseph (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) and Uche Wokocha (Galloway/St. Augustine Prep) joined Bartletta as NJAC Honorable Mention selections.

Hoenisch earned his second straight all-conference accolade and the other five Ospreys received all-conference recognition for the first time. Hoenisch was tabbed NJAC Second Team and NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2022.

Bartletta has had an outstanding rookie season, leading the NJAC in minutes played with 1673:16. He ranks third the conference in both shutouts (7) and goals against average (0.86) plus fourth in save percentage (.771). Bartletta registered his first career point with an assist on a long punt in Stockton's NJAC Tournament win over Rutgers-Newark on Saturday.

Hoenisch leads the team and is tied for third in the NJAC with 13 goals, including eight in conference play. The sophomore has four game-winning goals, ranking second in the NJAC, and he is fourth in the league in points (team-high 27). Hoenisch has been excellent on penalty kicks, converting five of six attempts, and his goal and point totals are the highest by an Osprey since 2015.

Homowitz has been a lynchpin for the Ospreys offensively and defensively this season. The sophomore has four goals and is tied for third in the NJAC in assists (6) plus tied for 10th in points (14) while starting all 19 games. Homowitz is a perfect 3-3 from the penalty kick spot this year.

Carbone has started all 19 games thus far and tallied six goals and four assists for 16 points in his junior year. He is tied for sixth in the NJAC in points, tied for seventh in goals and tied for ninth in assists.

Wokocha has had a breakout season as a sophomore, with two goals and one assist while starting all 18 games in which he has played and contributing as a strong two-way player in the midfield.

Joseph, only a sophomore, has anchored the young defense in front of Bartletta. He has started all 18 games that he has played and helped Stockton post nine shutouts, tied for the NJAC lead, and a 0.84 goals against average (3rd in NJAC).
