Galloway, NJ – Stockton University received two major awards and five all-conference honors from the NJAC for the 2023 volleyball season. Freshman Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) highlighted the accolades as she was voted NJAC Player of the Year and NJAC First Team.

Sophomore Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) and freshman Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) received NJAC Second Team nods. Sophomore Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and junior Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) were selected NJAC Honorable Mention.

The Stockton coaching staff of head coach Allison Walker and assistants Greg Langan, Amy Bruno, Amanda Gautier and Luke Lallo were chosen as the NJAC Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. The Ospreys reached the 20-win mark for the 15th time in Walker's 18 seasons as Stockton's head coach and finished first in the NJAC regular season with a perfect 8-0 conference record.

Palmer became the first freshman ever to be voted NJAC Player of the Year in volleyball, and her selection marked the 14th time that the award went to an Osprey. She has made an immediate impact in her rookie season, currently tied for fourth in the league in kills (3.15/set) plus sixth in points (3.49/set), eighth in hitting percentage (.248) and 11th in blocks (0.59/set).

Palmer, a two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week this season, leads the Ospreys in kills and points. The freshman has reached double figures in kills 12 times while playing in all 30 matches, including two matches with a career-high 20 kills.

Louer earned the NJAC Second Team spot following NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC Honorable Mention kudos last season. The outside hitter has filled the stat sheet again this year, ranking second on the team in kills (211) and points (225) as well as third in digs (166). Louer also has a 92.5% success rate on 362 serve receptions. She has hit double digits in kills eight times.

Wilson has joined Palmer to give Stockton a pair of high-impact newcomers at the net. She is third on the team in kills (181) behind Palmer and Louer while posting a strong .217 hitting percentage. Wilson has seven matches with a double-figure kill total, topped by a career-high 13 kills twice. She also has contributed defensively with 26 blocks.

De La Torre earned her second straight NJAC Honorable Mention nod with a solid line of 182 kills, a .221 hitting percentage and 27 blocks as part of Stockton's deep collection of front row players. The sophomore tied her career high with 13 kills against Widener on September 30.

Witherspoon collected her first all-conference honor with another outstanding year at middle hitter. The junior is tied for second in the NJAC and tied for 20th in NCAA Division III in blocks (1.13/set). In addition, Witherspoon is 10th in the conference in hitting percentage (.229) to go with 130 kills.

Witherspoon was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. She posted a new career high with nine blocks against Augsburg on September 2, and she has moved into 10th in Stockton history with 288 career blocks.
