2025 Stockton Volleyball Recap

Overview
Stockton Volleyball won 22 games in 2025, reaching the 20-win mark for the 31st time in the last 36 full seasons. The Ospreys placed third in the NJAC regular season standings and advanced to the NJAC championship match for the third consecutive year before finishing with a 22-9 record.
 
Head coach Allison Walker relied a nucleus of veterans that included five seniors and four juniors. Twelve players saw action in 23 matches or more, with seven playing in all 31 contests. The Ospreys surged in the second half of the season, highlighted by a 13-match winning streak that lasted over a month from October 2 to November 4.
 
Stockton led the NJAC in blocks (1.86/set) and finished second in the conference in kills (12.42/set), hitting percentage (.228) and assists (11.45/set). In addition, the Ospreys finished 31st out of 404 NCAA Division III teams in hitting percentage.

Highlights
  • Kate Louer was one of seven Ospreys who played in all 31 matches as she closed her career with an outstanding senior season. Louer finished third in the NJAC in kills (3.75/set), fifth in points (4.20/set) and sixth in hitting percentage (.285) on the way to her second AVCA All-America Honorable Mention award.
  • Louer led Stockton in kills (386), points (433) and serve reception percentage (.954) while also finishing third on the team in digs (200). She registered a double-digit kill total in 21 of 31 matches, reached the 1,000-kill milestone and finished with 1,219 kills, ranking ninth all-time at Stockton.
  • Nicole Palmer battled through an injury-plagued season to become just the fourth Stockton player ever with three AVCA All-America honors. Despite missing eight matches, Palmer finished second on the team behind Louer in kills (247) and points (293.5).
  • Palmer was ninth in the NJAC in points (3.67/set) and 10th in kills (3.09/set) while hitting at a .232 clip. She spiked double-digit kills in 14 of her 23 matches and served a career-high nine aces versus Rutgers-Newark on October 2, tying the most by any NJAC player in a match this season.
  • Rileigh Wilson added to Stockton's strength at the net, placing ninth in the NJAC in hitting percentage (.248) and blocks (0.54/set). The senior reached double digits in kills seven times and tied her career high with 20 spikes versus Salisbury on November 7.
  • Regan Mendick played in all 31 matches, leading the team in assists (560) and aces (41). Mendick finished seventh in the NJAC in assists (5.28/set). The senior posted a new career high with 33 helpers against Sailsbury on November 7 and ended her career eighth in Stockton history with 2,193 assists.
  • Kristen Burton aided the setter position with 418 assists (4.27/set) and served 35 aces. Burton dished double-digit assists in 24 of her 31 matches and set a career-high with 28 helpers twice during the season.
  • Laila Newborn was a key addition at middle hitter in her first season at Stockton as a transfer, leading the team in blocks with 102. Her 1.01 block per set average ranked second in the league and she tallied a career-high 10 blocks against Salisbury on November 7 for the most by any NJAC player in a match this year.
  • Jalynn Grant joined Newborn to form Stockton's tandem at middle hitter. Grant finished fifth in the NJAC in blocks (0.66/set) and tallied 109 kills while playing in 30 matches. The sophomore spiked a career-high 11 kills in the NJAC semifinal win at Rowan.
  • Freshman Helen Murray and McKenna Ritchie led the back row with 249 and 221 digs respectively. Murray scooped double-digit digs in 11 of her 31 matches and also finished second on the team with 36 aces.
  • Ritchie reached double figures nine times in her 31 matches and achieved the 1,000-dig plateau for her career during the NJAC semifinal win at Rowan. Lauren Sommer also contributed defensively with 121 digs as well as serving 34 aces.
  • Freshman Olivia Magro and senior Camille De La Torre added to the offensive firepower as Magro spiked 106 kills followed by De La Torre with 105, giving Stockton six players with at least 100 kills on the season.
