Galloway, N.J. – Four Stockton University volleyball players collected Academic All-District recognition from the
College Sports Communicators for the 2025 season. Seniors
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) and
Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) and juniors
Lauren Sommer (York, Pa./Central York) and
Kristen Burton (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding) were the honorees.
Wilson and Sommer earned Academic All-District spots for the second straight year while Louer and Burton snagged the accolades for the first time. The quartet led Stockton to a 22-9 record and a third consecutive berth in the NJAC championship match.
The requirements for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District are a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and sophomore or higher standing. Student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent or started at least 66 percent of their team's games this season.
Louer, a Health Science major, was an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, NJAC First Team and AVCA All-Region 4 First Team selection this season. The outside hitter topped the Ospreys in kills (386), points (433) and hitting percentage (.285) and also recorded a team-best 95.4% serve reception success rate while facing a team-high 476 attempts.
Louer finished third in the NJAC in kills (3.75/set), fifth in points (4.20/set) and sixth in hitting percentage. She achieved the 1,000-kill milestone on October 2 and finished her career ninth in Stockton history with 1,219 kills.
Wilson, a Visual Arts major, was an NJAC Honorable Mention player this year. The right-side hitter finished second on the team behind Louer in hitting percentage (.248) plus third on the squad in points (229), kills (203) and blocks (49) while playing in 29 of Stockton's 31 matches. Wilson placed ninth in the NJAC in hitting percentage and blocks.
Burton, a Criminal Justice major, played in all 31 matches as part of Stockton's two-setter rotation. The junior finished second on the team in assists (418) and third in aces (35). Burton also contributed 123 digs on the defensive side. She reached double figures in assists in 24 of her 31 matches played and averaged 4.27 assists per set for the season.
Sommer, Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major, saw action in all 31 matches and played a total of 87 sets in the back row. The defensive specialist tallied 121 digs and also served 34 aces. Sommer scooped at least six digs in a match nine times. She served a career-high six aces against Lebanon Valley on August 30.
