Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-1) scored eight goals in the first period and cruised to a dominant 17-0 victory over Goucher College (0-3) on Saturday afternoon. Freshman

Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) and
Lexie Jackson (Barnegat/Barnegat) scored three times each for the Ospreys.

Stockton posted the team's first shutout since their inaugural season in 2014.

The game, which was played in cold, snowy weather, opened with Giordano hitting the net twice in the first five minutes of play. Jackson, assisted by Giordano, and Costello followed her with tallies.

Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland), from
Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, PA/Abington), made it 5-0 before Stockton ended the frame with three goals in the final 1:09 of the quarter. Costello, Giordano and Jackson finished off the stanza for an 8-0 margin.

Mary Meduri (Brigantine/Our Lady of Mercy), Jackson and freshman
Brianna Robinson (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.) put the Ospreys ahead 11-0 at the break with three second period markers. Robinson's goal was the first of her career.

The second half became academic as all available Stockton players saw action.
Emily Deworsop (Monroe Twp./Monroe twp.) scored her first two goals of the season, with Robinson adding another goal and assist.

Costello finished off her hat trick and posted a pair of helpers, while freshman
Noelle Murphy (Manalapan/Manalapan) tallied her first career marker on an assist from Meduri. Meduri ended the scoring for the home team with her second of the game in the final quarter.

In addition to her three goals, Jackson grabbed nine draw controls, two off the Stockton record. Alessandro and Costello scooped five ground balls each, with Alessandro causing a game-high four turnovers.

Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) started and earned her second win of the season in net without having to make a save.
Daniela Elliott (Wayne/Wayne valley) played 30 minutes and made the only save of the contest.
Meg Lynch (Glen Rock/Glen Rock) saw action in the final frame without having to make a save.

Stockton will play their next two games on the road starting on Wednesday night. The Ospreys will travel to Collegeville, PA to face Ursinus College at 7 p.m.
