Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (9-1) came from behind to defeat Cabrini University (4-3) by an 11-10 score on Friday afternoon.
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) and
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) scored three goals each as Stockton extended their winning streak to nine straight games.

The teams battled evenly through the first period as the Cavaliers and Ospreys tallied three goals each. After the visitors scored the first two goals, McLaughlin sliced the margin to 2-1. Cabrini added one more before
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/Our Lady of Mercy) and McLaughlin knotted the match at 3-3 after one frame.

The Cavaliers took a 7-6 advantage into the break, scoring four times to three for Stockton in the second period.
Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth Meeting) and
Lilly Alessandro (Jenkintown, PA/Abington) pushed the Ospreys to a 5-3 lead before Cabrini tallied four of the next five markers for the one-goal margin at the break.

The visitors expanded the lead to 9-6 before McLaughlin gave Stockton life at 9-7 after three quarters of play. Marinello hit the net twice to help Stockton tie the match at 9-9 with 11:57 to play. Cabrini regained the lead for the last time less than a minute later at 10-9, setting up the late-game heroics for Stockton.

Aubrey Giordano (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive), assisted by Marinello, tied the game for the final time with 8:38 remaining. Marinello scored the game-winner with 2:08 left, then caused a key turnover with 49 seconds remaining that sealed the game to give Stockton the 11-10 victory. Â

Drew Coxson (Chatham/Chatham) led the defense with six ground balls and tied the school record for Stockton with five caused turnovers.

Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) made a season-high 10 saves in gaining her ninth win of the season.

For Cabrini, Neve Murphy and Shea Neary tallied three goals each, with Olivia Little adding a goal and two assists. Neary had a game-high nine draw controls, with Caroline Gallagher adding game highs of nine ground balls and six caused turnovers. Netminder Abbey Fenton made five saves.
